“Syntynyt säiliöksi” is a performance about the dark side of motherhood. It looks behind the traditional images of the mother and tries to understand what actually happened to her. How does it feel, when one’s body turns into a vessel for creation of new life and one’s identity stretches to the point of snapping in half?

“Syntynyt säiliöksi” is a monologue, which connects visual theatre and autobiographical acting and gives voice to the mother. The performance is fuids, stretched tissues, pain and a journey to the river of life and death. There, where everything once begins.

This is not a performance about children. This is a performance about mothers.
