In Dublin - 14th to 16th of december 2015. -- The workshop investigates physical storytelling, finding and expressing the performer's Self through movement and sound, and devising through improvisation. “The Performer and the Self" on fyysisen teatterin kurssi, jolla keskitytään näyttelijälähtöiseen devisaamiseen ja roolihahmon luomiseen. Spindrift Theatren Carroll Berserkur -esityksen aikana kehittämä lähestymistapa ammentaa näyttelijän minuudesta, identiteetistä ja asenteista ja tähtää tämän itseohjautuvuuteen roolihahmoa ja esitysmateriaalia tuotettaessa. Kurssilla työskennellään kehollisesti liikettä, ääntä ja lavastusta hyödyntäen. Työpaja tähtää kunkin esiintyjän soolodemoon kurssin päätteeksi. 

“The Performer and the Self I” keskittyy identiteetin muovautumisen ja kasvun teemoihin. “The Performance and the Self II” tutkii sukupuoli-identiteettiä ja sukupuolen representaatioita teatterissa.

“The Performer and the Self” on kiertänyt Reykjavikissä Tjarnarbio-teatterissa, Glasgow'ssa Royal Conservatoire of Scotlandissa, Dublinissa Gaiety School of Actingissä, Oslossa Skuespillersenterissä sekä Suomen näyttelijäliiton Ilmaisuverstaalla.
